PSG Director Speaks Out On Whether Arsenal Have Held Talks About Signing Fullback

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has dismissed reports that Arsenal have been in contact with the Ligue One side about a January move for fullback Layvin Kurzawa.

With the Gunners currently without their two first-choice left-backs in Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney, there has been a suggestion that the London club would make a move for Kurzawa this month, but Leonardo has denied those claims:

“We never had a proposal, zero, for Kurzawa. He plays a lot of matches. He is a player at the end of the contract but we haven’t heard anything. Arsenal have never called.”

Kurzawa is out of contract with PSG in the summer, and as he is in the last six months of his current deal, he does not need permission from his current club to speak to interested parties.

Leonardo’s comments, therefore, do not rule out the possibility that Arsenal are in talks with the player and his agent regarding a free transfer in the summer.

However, if the Gunners are indeed trying to snap up the Frenchman, it does raise question marks over who he will be replacing. With Tierney having only been signed from Celtic for £25m in August, it does suggest Kolasinac’s days at the Emirates could be numbered.
