With Arsenal getting off to an inconsistent start to Mikel Arteta’s first full season in charge. It is fair to ask where the goals are going to come from in the remainder of the campaign.
We are asking fans who they think will be Arsenal’s top scorer this season.
Much is always expected of main-man and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and with his relatively slow start this season some have been questioning the strikers performance now that he has signed a new deal. Aubameyang is a victim of his own success and high standards considering this is really his first remotely slow spell in front of goal which from any other striker would almost certainly go by unnoticed.
Alexandre Lacazette is certainly a top class striker but he has not delivered a truly killer season in front of goal in an Arsenal shirt as he did in France earlier in his career. He could yet have that standout season and lead the Gunners in scoring.
Whether Eddie Nketiah can have a breakout campaign and steal the goal-scoring spotlight remains to be seen. Gabriel Martinelli is still injured so the other candidates for top scorer appear to be the now full England international Bukayo Saka or free agent signing Willian who seems to be a preferred selection for Mikel Arteta in most games this season.
