Podolski Set To Return To Emirates

Lukas Podolski left Arsenal in such a manner that no one believed he would return. He thanked the fans and joined Inter in what looked like a welcome change in scenery. Unfortunately, the 30 year old had a very disappointing season that made the Italian side rethink their strategy. Podolski will return to the Emirates where Wenger is very likely to keep him on the bench until his deal with Arsenal expires. The German international has criticized the Frenchman on several occasions and has constantly complained about the fact that he does not get the chance to play more often. He also criticized his colleagues and even if he did not do that directly, he clearly considered himself better than some of the players featured in the starting eleven.

According to the BBC, Podolski will have a rough year if no one decides to buy him. The Gunners are definitely looking to sell and maybe use the 30 year old as a bargaining chip in order to bring in some new talent. The forward could be a useful tool when it comes to transferring from the Bundesliga. He was at his best while in Germany and would probably manage to boost his career by returning home. With that in mind, Arsenal could maybe hope to buy at least one player linked to a move to Emirates with the proceeds of a Podolski sale. Up until now, Borussia Dortmund seems to be the team with the most interesting players. Hopefully Wenger will manage to find a way to use Podolski in an exchange that could bring names like Reus, Hummels or Subotic to London.
