Podolski On His Way Out Of Arsenal After Short Appearance vs Chelsea

Lukas Podolski could find his way out of Arsenal in the January transfer window, as the striker slowly but surely loses his place in the starting eleven along with Costa Rican attacker Joel Campbell who is also currently out of favor at the club, according to Metro.

Arsenal are victims of injuries to their key players, and that is having a negative impact on the squad. Their form in all competitions has not been at the top level, as Arsene Wenger tries to inspire a stronger season. The win against Galatasaray in the Champions League will help the manager’s cause, but it is the elusive Premier League trophy that still eludes the Emirates Stadium. With Danny Welbeck performing exceptionally well, players like Podolski and Campbell are losing their place in the squad, and will most certainly look to leave the club in search of first team football in January.

Podolski joined the club in 2012 from FC Koln, but has been a bit-part player for Wenger, making an impression only as an impact player off the bench. Despite being chosen for Joachim Loew’s World Cup winning squad in Brazil, Podolski only made appearances in the group stages. Arsenal have already added Alexis Sanchez to their strike force for the coming season, and Theo Walcott’s return from long term injury will again force the German out of the starting eleven.

Podolski did come on for about 10mins today vs Chelsea but he hardly had time to make an impact and not surprisingly was prettty anonymous in the 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge as Arsene Wenger maintained his unenviable record vs Mourinho.
