Podolski Loan Deal Looking More Like A Permanent Transfer

Arsenal have sent Podolski on loan to Inter for the rest of the season apparently. Despite Wenger repeatedly denying the fact that the forward would leave, it seems that a deal was made during the first days of the transfer period. According to Sky Sports, Podolski is now Inter’s player for the next couple of months. He already posted pictures with his new club’s emblem and tweeted a heartfelt message for the Gooners who will always remain in his heart. The tweet was actually what pointed towards a permanent fallout between Arsenal and Podolski. Most players take great care in what they say and don’t dedicate themselves completely to a team for which they will be playing less than half of a year. Podolski seemed different though as he was probably saying his goodbyes to the Emirates.

Since coming to London, he failed to fully acclimatise and become a team regular not really due to anything he did. Not being able to play on a weekly basis got to him and frustration grew. In his past months spent with Arsenal, Podolski never missed a chance to remind the press and Wenger that he would be able to prove himself only if he was given the chance. He even hinted that he might deserve to play more than others do at times. It is a strange decision to let the German International go though. He was a strong substitute and could always perform on a world class level. He will be missed on the left side of the pitch where Arsenal have a difficult time finding the right solution and when Wenger needs a goal in the last few minutes of games when the German was always capable of grabbing a goal if the opportunity was given to him.
