Pochettino Gives Cryptic Reply When Asked About The Arsenal Job

Mauricio Pochettino did not give a straight answer when he was asked about the Arsenal job by an Argentinian reporter in a recent interview.

The 47-year-old is currently back in his homeland after being sacked by Tottenham last month, but when he was questioned on whether the vacancies at Bayern Munich or Arsenal would appeal to him, Pochettino replied:

“It’s important to have a moment of calm to lower the decibels and find the energy to take on a new project, and we’ll see where that is… I’m going to spend a few days here [in Rosario] with my family and friends, and then I’ll return to London next week.”

The Argentine did not explicitly rule out the Gunners, which will give some hope to supporters that he would consider taking over at the Emirates.

He has made it known in the past that he would not make the move to a London rival after managing Spurs but his sacking by the Lilywhites may have altered his thinking.

The bookies are currently not expecting Pochettino to become Arsenal’s next manager with the Argentine 14/1 at Paddy Power, behind the likes of Shanghai SIPG’s Vitor Pereira and even Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe.
