Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was full of praise for Mesut Ozil’s display against Newcastle on Sunday. The German scored the third in a 4-0 win, and taking to Twitter, the TV presenter and journalist said the playmaker was back playing close to his best:
3-0. Bloody hell… Ozil’s scored.
And he’s had a great game, full of energy & creativity.

Ozil has certainly upped his game since the arrival of Mikel Arteta as head coach, although his goal versus the Magpies was his first for the Gunners in ten months.
The 31-year-old was certainly not a favourite of former manager Unai Emery, but Arteta does seem to have a lot more faith in his former teammate, which is now paying dividends with improved performances on the pitch.
It will be interesting to see whether Ozil can maintain his high energy levels in the coming weeks and months, and supporters will also be hoping that the midfielder can produce more goals and assists for his team to help secure a few more wins.
