Piers Morgan Gives Backing To Ex Chelsea Coach Who He Claims Would Be ‘Receptive’ To Arsenal Approach

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan is reporting that Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti would be open to a move to the Emirates. The journalist took to Twitter yesterday claiming that the ex-Chelsea head coach could be persuaded to take the Gunners job:

Arsenal are expected to take their time in appointing their next manager, but the bookmakers have long odds on Ancelotti being appointed as Unai Emery’s successor.

Betfair currently have the Italian at 25/1 behind the likes of Mikel Arteta, Freddie Ljungberg, Marcelino, Max Allegri, Brendan Rodgers, Mauricio Pochettino, Eddie Howe and Nuno Espirito Santo.

Ljungberg, in particular, is said to be in contention for the job on a fulltime basis if he can impress enough during his stint as interim head coach.

The Gunners face Brighton tomorrow night with the London club looking to get their season back on track. They have yet to lose in the league at the Emirates this season but have drawn four of their seven home games.
