Two of the many transfer rumors stood out these past days when it comes to Arsenal. According to Squawka, Wenger is looking to improve the attack with two new players destined to increase competition and also fill in some gaps made by injuries. The two speculated names are Troy Deeney and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Out of these strikers, there is no doubt that Dortmund’s top scorer is the one to want. He not only has 18 goals in 17 matches this season but he also started as a left winger which is something Arsenal have been looking for during the last couple of years. Not to be too drastic but there is little to no hope of seeing Deeney at Emirates. He is in decent form, he is just 27 and he is also willing to play left wing but still, he’s not in the same league as Dortmund’s striker. He never performed at the highest level and he even took a career break for the summer which is quite strange for a footballer who is completely focused on his career. Being Watford’s captain is not enough to get you through to the Big Four especially to Arsenal.
On the one side we have Aubameyang. He is blazing fast, he is efficient, he has Champions League experience and has reached the perfect age to move and reach his full potential. He would be perfect on the left or even instead of Giroud who despite being in top form, is still seen as a good striker rather than the brilliant number nine teams like Real, Barcelona, Bayern or PSG have. Dortmund’s player is expected to be right there with the greats with some help from the right people and the right scenery.
Playing one year in the Premier League without any pauses and competing with Walcott, Sanchez and Giroud would definitely bring this 26-year-old to the next level. What is great about this rumor is that it`s fueled by the club and the player’s agent who hinted towards a possible rupture between Dortmund and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He would be the player to sign even if it will happen in the summer. This is one of the rumors that sounds doable and also sounds very, very interesting for Arsenal.
