Petit Pinpoints The Manager Who Is The “Perfect Answer” For Arsenal’s Problems

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes the Gunners have a great opportunity to secure a top-class manager in Carlo Ancelotti following his sacking by Napoli.

The ex-Chelsea boss is not believed to be in the frame to replace Unai Emery at the Emirates, but Petit doesn’t think there is a better candidate out there who is available right away:

“Ancelotti would be, right now, the perfect answer for Arsenal. It’s very rare to see a top manager like him getting fired in the middle of the season.”

“It’s a coincidence and sometimes destiny tries to show you the way to go and you have to be open to it. He is one of the top managers in the world, he’s available and he’s on the market.”

Petit certainly has a point. The likes of Max Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino are said to be looking to stay out of management until the summer, while other contenders, such as Nuno and Mikel Arteta, are already at other clubs.

Ancelotti is certainly an experienced manager, with an extremely impressive CV, but it does appear that Arsenal are reluctant to consider the 60-year-old.

There have been two reasons cited for their lack of interest; his age, but also the way he has left his two previous jobs at Bayern Munich and Napoli.
