Pepe, Tierney, Holding And Martinelli To Start, Saka And Aubameyang Out: Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Play City

The strength of the team that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta put out on Thursday night suggests he is putting all of his eggs in the Europa League basket.

If that is the case then we should expect a lot of rotation for the Manchester City game tomorrow, with the second leg against Benfica coming up next week.

Bernd Leno will keep his place in goal, but Rob Holding could come in to replace David Luiz alongside Gabriel in the centre of defence. Kieran Tierney does need more minutes to aid his recovery from a knee problem so he may be selected ahead of Hector Bellerin, with Cedric moving to the right flank.

In midfield, Granit Xhaka could be given a rest, with Mohamed Elneny coming in to partner Dani Ceballos. Martin Odegaard might keep his place as he needs to build up his match sharpness.

Up front, Nicolas Pepe is expected to come in, with Bukayo Saka one of the candidates to be rested. Gabriel Martinelli may get a chance on the left-wing, in place of Emile Smith Rowe, while Alexandre Lacazette could lead the line, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang dropping to the bench.

Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Face Manchester City:

Leno, Cedric, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Ceballos, Odegaard, Elneny, Pepe, Lacazette, Martinelli
