REPORT: Arsenal ‘Monitoring’ Premier League Star, Could Make Transfer Move In January

Arsenal are continuing to ‘monitor’ the situation of Pedro Neto at Wolverhampton Wanderers after they failed to sign him in the summer, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.

In a recent interview with Wolves manager Gary O’Neil, he had this to say about Neto: “He has been absolutely incredible for the six or seven weeks I have been here. I am really pleased with where Pedro is at.

“He has given absolutely everything and showed a big moment of quality [at Luton] which sums up how he has been for me for the last six weeks.”

Who else, besides Arsenal, are interested in a move for Pedro Neto?

Currently, Arsenal are the frontrunners to complete a deal for the Wolves superstar – nevertheless, they are not completely alone in their pursuit.

Liverpool have been tentatively linked with a move for the player, amid rumours that they were lining up a bid for him in the summer transfer window.

Despite this, it is unclear if Jurgen Klopp’s interest in Neto is still alive – if not, the Gunners may be free of competition for his signature in the January transfer window.

What would Pedro Neto add to the existing squad?

Neto is a top Premier League talent – he proved this in Wolves’ last game, where they defeated champions Manchester City by a score of 2-1 at the Molineux Stadium.

He ran Nathan Ake ragged over the course of the encounter, beating the Dutch international for pace with alarming regularity. He could not contain Neto – even though he did not score or register an assist, he provided a constant threat down the right flank.

Arsenal have an abundance of player who can play on the right wing – however, they do not have a wealth of left wingers in their squad.

Should Arsenal choose to bring Neto on board, he would likely be used as a backup to Bukayo Saka. This would make him a welcomed addition to the team – several audiences believe that Saka is currently playing too many games, noting that his mammoth share of game time could lead to serious ramifications as he grows older.
