Paul Merson Predicts The Scoreline As Arsenal Face Leicester

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is expecting Arsenal to record a comfortable win when they play Leicester on Saturday.

The Gunners got off to an excellent start with a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace last week, and Merson sees his former club carrying that form into their game versus the Foxes:

“The front four look lively for Arsenal. They’ve got everything between them and if they stay fit, Arsenal are going to have a good Premier League season. If one of them gets injured, however, they’re in trouble. I thought Arsenal were outstanding in their first 20 minutes against Crystal Palace. I was very impressed by them at times last week, and I think they should be able to win this game easily.”

Merson is expecting Mikel Arteta’s side to come out 3-0 winners, which is a pretty bold prediction, considering Leicester are a pretty formidable team when they are firing on all cylinders. However, you do get where he is coming from.

After losing a 2-0 goal lead in their opening fixture, the Foxes are likely to be pretty fragile defensively, and Arsenal could take advantage of any vulnerabilities if they start the game as strongly as they did against Palace.

The Gunners should be confident of getting the three points but it remains to be seen whether it will be as easy as Merson expects.
