Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is expecting Arsenal to secure a comfortable victory when they take on Bournemouth this weekend.

The ex-Gunners midfielder says he believes that three points against the Cherries are vital to keep their title challenge on track but he is confident that they will come out on top:

“If Arsenal can win against Bournemouth on Sunday [sic], they are likely to be five points clear of Manchester City. From there, they will be favorites to win the title as there won’t be a lot of games left…The game against Bournemouth is a must-win for the Gunners as far as their title charge is concerned.”

Merson has gone with a 3-0 win for Arsenal, which seems like a fair prediction, considering that Mikel Arteta side’s home record is so strong.

In the Premier League this season, the Gunners have racked up nine wins, two draws and just one defeat (which came against Manchester City last month).

Bournemouth’s away form, in stark contrast, is very poor. Gary O Neil’s men have only secured two victories on the road, although their last did come in their previous away fixture versus Wolves.

It could be a similar story to the Everton match, where Arsenal will need to be patient to find a breakthrough. If they get an early goal, though, it should be a straightforward afternoon.
