Paul Merson Predicts The Result As Arsenal Take On Leeds

Paul Merson is expecting a tight contest when Arsenal face Leeds at the Emirates tomorrow afternoon.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that the fact the Gunners’ opponents are involved in a relegation battle will make this game a lot harder than it would otherwise be, but he still backs Mikel Arteta’s side to come out on top:

“Four weeks ago, you’d have looked at this fixture and thought what a good game for Arsenal as Leeds looked safe. Now that they are set to play against a team that is fighting for survival, this will be an interesting game. Leeds lost 4-0 against Manchester City, but they produced a lot of good moments in that game and could have probably got a positive result if they took their chances. All things considered, Arsenal are a better team and should win this game to get closer to securing a place in the Premier League top four.”

Merson has gone with a 2-1 victory for Arsenal, which seems to be bang on the money in terms of a prediction. This is not going to be an easy match, with both teams desperate for the win.

With both Burnley and Everton having picked up victories last week, Leeds are now very much in danger of falling into the relegation zone so expect them to be battling for every ball like their lives depend on it.

These are the types of games that can trip a team up so Arsenal will have to show the same level of commitment as their opponent if they are to get the three points.
