Ozil Visits Friends And Family During His 4 Day Mini-Vacation

Wenger, who insists Ozil has not even begun to show his true potential decided to give the German midfielder some extra time off in order for the 25 year old to get some much needed rest. According to The Mirror, Real’s former player headed home to Germany to spend some time with his family and friends.

Arsenal’s most expensive transfer got off to a great start after first moving to North London. Unfortunately for both him and the club, obvious acclimatisation problems have emerged. It is still hard to tell if Ozil has a hard time dealing with living in the UK or if he simply cannot keep up with Premier League football. Even if both scenarios seem highly possible, Wenger is still convinced he made the right choice bringing in the German International as a late and very expensive transfer.

One more obvious thing can be stated when it comes to Ozil: Wenger has given him his full support. The extra time off is proof of that, considering how strict the Frenchman usually is regarding Arsenal’s schedule.

The Gunner was not featured in the game against Sunderland due to some medical issues that could have gotten worse if Ozil pushed himself to hard. Moving from Madrid to Arsenal was definitely a big change of pace for the German international who has made 21 appearances since the beginning of the season.

The extra time off was surely meant to also give him some breathing space after the disastrous performance against Bayern Munich, when Ozil was held accountable for Arsenal’s home defeat. Hopefully he will recover soon as the Gunners already have squad issues. Ramsey who was one of Wenger’s best players this season is due to return sometime next month but nothing is for sure.
