Ozil Looking To Improve On Last Season’s Performance

After an impressive start, Ozil failed to maintain a steady rhythm throughout the season. His form dropped considerably after the first few months which got people talking. Many said that Wenger paid too much for Real’s former player who cost the club £42million. The 25 year old midfielder scored 7 times and made 14 assists in the 42 games he featured in. Towards the end of the season he was given time off by Wenger due to the fact that the Premier League was quite intense for him. According to SkySports, this season will be different for Ozil who is determined to show fans that he is worth the money.

The World Cup winner recently declared that he was a bit overwhelmed by the fans expectations especially after most said that he is one of the best game coordinators in European football. Ozil also pointed out that he was often played out of position which is not something he is keen on doing this season. Apparently he is most happy being a playmaker. To be fair, he was used in different positions in order to make some room for Ramsey and Wilshere.

Hopefully, Ozil will keep his promise and he will deliver this season. Unfortunately for him, he will have to deliver his assists to someone other than Giroud who will be out until January. Even though Sanogo is a decent striker, he has a tough time staying in tune with the entire team but maybe Danny Welbeck will fare better.
