Owen Makes His Prediction For Arsenal’s Clash Against Liverpool

TV pundit Michael Owen is expecting his former club Liverpool to have too much for Arsenal when the two sides face off in the Carabao Cup this evening.

Despite both teams likely to make a number of changes to their starting line ups, Owen still thinks that the Reds will come out the winners against the Gunners at Anfield:

“Both sides are likely to make several changes for the tie but both clubs have deep, and talented, squads and it promises to be a cracking game. The Reds steamrollered the Gunners in the league game earlier in the season and I expect Jurgen Klopp’s side to reach the quarterfinals.”

Considering Arsenal’s strength in depth, Owen’s prediction seems to be way off the mark. Mesut Ozil could captain the side tonight, with the likes of Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Gabriel Martinelli all starting.

In contrast, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to select players like Neco Williams, Curtis Jones, Rhian Brewster and Harvey Elliott who have very little first-team experience.

Even though the Gunners are playing away from home, they are likely to start the game with the strongest eleven, and fans will be hoping Unai Emery’s side can progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
