Owen Doubts Ozil’s Title Winning Credentials

There has been a lot of talk regarding Ozil’s contribution to Arsenal’s great season start. Despite people being concerned with his ability to adapt to the Premier League, the German international has had a considerable impact on the Gunners’ game.

Ozil has plateaued somewhat lately but he is still looking a class player, clearly he could not continue at that awesome level for a whole season we all knew he would level off for a while. As Metro report Michael Owen does not think Ozil has what it takes to lead Arsenal to the title. Owen feels that the German plays well for a couple of games and then disappears for 5 or 6 which seems like a very exaggerated and indeed a totally inaccurate view.

Michael Owen is pretty confident Liverpool are the team to watch this season, he is among those who believe German international, Ozil is not star-quality material. The former England striker apparently considers that Arsenal don’t have the necessary players in order to finish above fellow title contenders, Chelsea or City.

Arsenal’s Ozil will become more of a leader at the club in time – he is hardly gonna start throwing his weight around when he is still adjusting to the team and the League. Adjusting to the Premier League is difficult for any player no matter how great he is but no-one can deny that Ozil is genuinely world class and a player who can and has changed games with his play already this season.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember is that Ozil knows how to win – he won a La Liga title with Mourinho while at Real in the 2011-2012 season when Real beat Barca by 9 points in a Madrid team which was one of the best in recent La Liga history. So Michael Owen should keep quiet about things he knows little about, he only won a Premier League medal because Fergie was kind enough to give him enough sub appearances when he was at United. Ozil was a key part of the Real team and he knows what it takes to win the big one.
