Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, but it is believed they will face the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus in the battle for the 21-year-old’s signature.
With the Frenchman also said to be valued at £65m by his club, a lot of fans on Twitter doubt the player is a realistic target for the Gunners, even if they would like to see him play at the Emirates:

This would be the best signing we can do for our midfield.

The only way we can get him is just because he will get more playtime .. otherwise nope

No way we’re getting him when Man City is in the conversation

Arsenal are unlikely to have the funds to afford Aouar without some players being sold and, on top of that, they will battling teams who will all be playing in the Champions League next season.
It’s certainly not surprising that the London club are tracking the France Under 21 international, considering his technical qualities would fit perfectly in Mikel Arteta’s system, but they may have to look elsewhere if they want to sign a gifted central midfielder this summer.
