Ospina Not Happy Being Second Fiddle

David Ospina is not happy with his situation at the club and could consider leaving Emirates this winter. Even though it is not entirely up to him, it is very unlikely that Wenger will want to keep a player who is no longer dedicated to the club. It is somewhat understandable given the fact that the Colombian’s chances to actually become a team regular are close to none given the high level of confidence Cech has brought to the table. Some had their doubts at the beginning when Chelsea’s former keeper moved to the Northern part of London, mostly because his lack of games. Cech proved everyone wrong and showed that he has a lot to offer.

Ospina who is only 27 is good but not good enough to match Cech. It is a similar situation to that of the Blues’ ex-stopper who had to leave because of his competition with Courtois. There’s also a matter of trust when it comes to the Colombian, despite excellent performances and great stats, both fans and experts don’t seem to be totally confident in him. With Cech’s arrival it is quite clear that he will not get to play important games especially after his performance against Olympiakos. According to Squawka, 4 teams are already circling the Colombian who is expected to request a transfer to a team that will be using him as the number one goalkeeper.  Rumours have it that Ospina is linked to Benfica, Getafe, Genoa and Palermo. Arsenal have signed a deal with the 27-year-old until 2019 and are also expecting Szczesny to return in June 2016.
