The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has suggested that Reiss Nelson could be sacrificed this summer by Arsenal as the club look to raise funds and cut costs.
Speaking on Ask Ornstein, a new Q&A series on the Tifo Podcast Youtube channel, the former BBC reporter claimed that the 20-year-old, along with five other senior stars, could be offloaded.
Defenders Sokratis, Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi are also said to be up for sale, along with midfielders Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
Nelson has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, with head coach Mikel Arteta having given him two league starts against Norwich and Liverpool since the restart, but he has occasionally been left out of matchday squads.
The Gunners do have a number of options in wide areas, such as Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli so it could be the case that Arteta doesn’t see him playing that regularly next campaign.
