One Last Attempt For Draxler?

One Last Attempt For Draxler?

After some intense speculation about Draxler’s transfer to Arsenal, talks have cooled down since as Arsene Wenger has got good news from the treatment table, which reveal that Nicklas Bendtner is nearing full fitness in the coming weeks, which means that the need for a new attacker is not that pressing.

Wenger spoke to the media recently where he says that the Gunners might not end up buying any players this month, which indirectly states that he might take up the Draxler issue only in the summer now. However, latest news has been filtering in that Wenger is now planning one last ditch attempt in the remaining one week of this transfer window, realising the fact that there are a list of clubs interested in him, which might start an unwanted bidding war for the German attacker in the summer, report the Mirror.

Therefore, there have been whispers going around suggesting that Wenger might jet off to Germany to enter into direct talks with representatives from Schalke in an attempt to thrash out a deal, which is expected to go as high as £35 million. Arsenal want to wrap this deal up as they want to be the early birds for his signature, and avoid a massive scramble for him in the summer.

Wenger was already in Spain where he was spotted watching Barcelona’s Cristian Tello in action yesterday; one can possibly expect him to make a small mission to Germany in the hopes that Arsenal can pull off this signing in this last week of the transfer window?
