“On The Table…” Journalist Says Arsenal And PL Rival Have Both Made 34M Bids For Spanish Teenage Sensation

Arsenal and Liverpool have both made €40m (£34m) offers for Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino, according to Spanish journalist Xavi Jorquera Marquez.

Rumours last week suggested that the Gunners (in addition to Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City) had taken an interest in the teenager, but Jorquera Marquez says formal bids have now been submitted:

As Jorquera Marquez points out, Villarreal are demanding around €60m (£50.5m) for Pino so Arsenal’s proposal is significantly below the player’s asking price.

Whether Mikel Arteta’s side are willing to go above their initial offer, we shall have to wait and see. The London club are known to be pursuing a winger, after their failed attempt to sign Raphinha.

Arsenal would have had to pay in excess of £55m for the Brazilian international so there is a possibility that they would be prepared to shell out a similar figure on Pino.

The 19-year-old scored seven goals and provided four assists in 40 appearances for Villarreal last campaign, which are pretty modest numbers, but he is a player with massive potential.
