Arsenal are keeping tabs on Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis, according to O’Jogo.
The Portuguese publication claim the 23-year-old is “on the list” of potential summer transfer targets for the Gunners, with Serie A champions Napoli and AC Milan also interested in the player.
Luis only signed a new contract back in October and it is believed that Benfica are not keen on allowing him to leave, which could cause a problem for Arsenal and other potential suitors.
The 23-year-old does have a €120m (£104m) release clause but it is highly unlikely that any team would be prepared to pay that sort of fee for the holding midfielder.
Why are Arsenal interested in signing Luis?
Thomas Partey’s injury problems mean an alternative needs to be found for the Ghanaian international.
West Ham’s Declan Rice is said to be the number one target but the Gunners need to look at different options just in case they are priced out of a move for the Hammers captain.
