‘On The Agenda’ Charles Watts Confirms Arsenal Are Considering Bid For 20M Rated Portuguese Starlet

Arsenal are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon forward Tiago Tomas, according to Goal‘s Gunners’ correspondent Charles Watts.

The 18-year-old was first linked with a move to the Emirates in February and Watts states that the teenager remains “on the agenda” as the Gunners eye potential replacements for Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

Tomas is said to have a €60m (£51.6m) release clause but it has been claimed that Sporting may be open to selling the Portuguese youth international for only £20m.

It must be pointed out that the striker has hardly been prolific this season, having bagged just six goals in 36 games, but not all of those appearances have been starts.

Tomas’s potential is believed to be very high, and if Arsenal can secure his services for a pretty low price, it is thought they will reap the benefits in the long term. Any offer may, though, be dependent on funds being raised through player sales.
