While the fixture postponement against Liverpool has given Arsenal ample time to prepare for their FA Cup third-round clash against Nottingham Forest, manager Mikel Arteta will be mindful of the fact that they will still be playing their League Cup semi-final next week.

With that in mind, there is every chance of some surprise selections when the Gunners travel to the City Ground this weekend.

While Forest’s fortunes have improved hugely since the appointment of Steve Cooper as manager, they have lost their last two league games, so they are not in great form.
