Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – David Raya – the Spaniard has been known to get nervous in high-profile games and he certainly wasn’t at his best against Bayern. He could have done better for both goals. Fans will be hoping he is slightly more composed this weekend.
RB – Ben White – the 26-year-old now has 5 assists this season after setting up Bukayo Saka for his opener midweek. He has been one of the club’s most consistent performers over the past few months.
CB – William Saliba – despite having an outstanding season, the 23-year-old’s lack of experience was on show versus Bayern. He will need to gather himself and ensure he wins the battle versus Ollie Watkins on Sunday.
CB – Gabriel – the Brazilian has been excellent since the turn of the year but he lost his head a bit on Tuesday. It’s probably wise to put it down as a one-off considering how disciplined both he and Saliba have been in the Premier League this campaign.
LB – Oleksandr Zinchenko – Jakub Kiwior was hooked at half-time against Bayern and it wasn’t a surprise. The Pole struggled and his replacement Zinchenko made the most of his chance. The Ukrainian deserves to be recalled versus Villa.
