Nicklas Bendtner Wants To Help The Cause

Nicklas Bendtner Wants To Help The Cause

Ever since his move to Arsenal, Bendtner has never been seen as the man to lead the Gunners’ attack on a weekly basis. He has always played as a back up, first to the likes of Robin van Persie and now to Olivier Giroud. Given Arsenal’s preference of playing just one man up front, Bendtner has always had to wait for either an injury or a suspension to the main man in order to enjoy some first-team opportunities.

Playing second fiddle for so many years has upset the Danish striker, whose tenure at the Emirates Stadium has included loan stints at Sunderland and Juventus. He also made the announcement not so long ago of wanting to leave Arsenal permanently this summer. However before he does so, he wishes to enjoy one last run in the side, and feels that he has a lot to offer to Wenger provided he is given the opportunity to do so, as reported by the Express. He spoke to the local press and was simply quoted as saying, “All I want to do is play.”

The London outfit are stuck in a situation where results have been hard to come by for them lately, which has seen them drop to 3rd in the league ahead of a crucial run of fixtures. Do you feel that Bendtner can add that missing dimension to Arsenal’s play?
