Nicholas Predicts A Tight Game As Arsenal Face Olympiakos

Ex-Arsenal star Charlie Nicholas does not think that Arsenal will come away from Greece with a victory when they face Olympiakos in the Europa League tomorrow evening.

The Sky Sports pundit is concerned about the Gunners’ defensive solidity and he can’t see them keeping their opponents out in the first leg:

“Olympiakos won well at the weekend so we could be in for a good game. It is more promising for Arsenal that is for sure, but the clean sheets won’t keep coming, I don’t think.”

Nicholas has predicted a 1-1 draw, which would be a good result to take back to the Emirates. Olympiakos have won all but one of their home games in the league this season, although they did struggle in their Champions League group.

They drew at home to Tottenham, but they were 2-0 down in that match, whilst they also lost to Bayern Munich. It will likely be a tightly contested affair, though, and Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will be happy if he can come away from the match with an away goal. Such a result will hold them in good stead for the second leg at home in just over a weeks time.
