Nicholas Makes His Prediction For Arsenal’s Clash Against Manchester United

TV pundit Charlie Nicholas is backing Arsenal to come out on top against Manchester United on Monday night. With the Red Devils’ injury problems, he believes the home side’s attack will be blunted, leaving the Gunners as favourites to make the most of their chances:

“If Arsenal can play a more structured game on the counter-attack, I think they will come away with all three points. Man United will try to dominate the midfield with aggression, with Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.”

“Aubameyang and Pepe had chances against Liverpool at Anfield and if they get these chances against Man United I think they will take them. It will make life easier for Arsenal’s defence with Man United’s depleted frontline.”

Nicholas predicts a 2-1 win for the away side, and considering the two teams’ form coming into the game, it seems like a good shout. Arsenal haven’t necessarily been convincing but they have won their lost three games in all competitions.

United, however, have lost to West Ham and had to go all the way to a penalty shootout to beat League One Rochdale on Wednesday. Their injury situation does mean the Gunners have the advantage heading into the clash, despite the fact that the game is at Old Trafford.

With Arsenal’s strengths in the attacking third of the pitch, in particular, it should be enough to come out on top on Monday.
