Newcastle ‘Keen’ To Seal Shock Loan Swoop For William Saliba

Arsenal are likely to send William Saliba on loan to another Premier League club before the start of next season, with Newcastle “keen” on snapping him up, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners’ pursuit of Brighton’s Ben White has left question marks over Saliba’s future at the Emirates and it appears manager Mikel Arteta still feels that the 20-year-old is not ready to play in the first team.

It was believed that Saliba would be assessed by the Arsenal boss when the squad returned to pre-season training next month but, after spending the second half of last season on loan with Nice, it seems a decision has already been made on his future.

With Joe Willock having had a good experience during his spell with Newcastle, the Gunners may see a similar switch to St James’ Park for Saliba as ideal for the Frenchman to continue his development.

Many Arsenal fans, though, feel that the centre-back is already capable of being a regular starter for the London club but Arteta apparently feels differently.
