‘Negotiating’ Report Confirms Arsenal Are Holding Talks Over 35M Rated Xhaka Replacement

Arsenal are “negotiating” with Wolves over the signing of midfielder Ruben Neves, according to Record. The Portuguese tabloid reports that the Gunners are keen on securing the 24-year-old’s services.

It was claimed last month that the Portuguese international was being eyed as a potential replacement for Granit Xhaka and it appears that the Gunners have stepped up their interest in recent days.

Neves is believed to be valued at around £35m by Wolves, and that figure may still prove a major stumbling block in snapping up the midfielder.

Record say that Arsenal do have an alternative in mind, with Neves’s international teammate, Renato Sanches, also said to be on the club’s radar but Mikel Arteta’s side may face stiff competition from Liverpool for the Lille star.

It is clear, though, that the Gunners are looking to ensure they adequately replace Xhaka who seems determined to secure a move to Roma this summer.
