Mustafi And Pepe To Start, Lacazette To Drop Out: Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Face Manchester United

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta would have been pleased with the performance, if not the result, against Chelsea on Sunday, so he is unlikely to make too many changes to the starting eleven for the game against Manchester United.

One will be enforced upon him, though, with Calum Chambers sidelined with a knee problem. The absence of Sokratis due to a concussion means Shkodran Mustafi is in line to start alongside David Luiz.

Rob Holding is closing in on a return to full fitness, but with the 24-year-old not having played since early November, it would be a massive risk to start him against United. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Bukayo Saka will likely continue at fullback.

Granit Xhaka could come back into the side after illness, but after performing well versus Chelsea, Arteta may keep faith with both Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira.

Up front, the Gunners could look to bring in Nicolas Pepe in place of Alexandre Lacazette, and shift Reiss Nelson over to the left flank, with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang playing through the middle.

Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Face United:

Leno, Maitland-Niles, Mustafi, Luiz, Saka, Torreira, Ozil, Guendouzi, Pepe, Aubameyang, Nelson
