Mourinho Makes Up With Ozil

Jose Mourinho showed the white flag to Mesut Ozil when the manager’s Chelsea side faced Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League, as the duo reunited after working together at Real Madrid before the German international was sold to the North London outfit, according to the Daily Mail.

Ozil arrived from the Santiago Bernabeu in a record deadline day move to Arsenal for a fee of £42.5 million. His early days at the club were calm and the playmaker made quite an impression with his goals and assists for his team mates. However, with the turn of the year and increasing intensity of the calendar, to the dismay of the Gunners, Ozil’s form faded drastically, leaving Arsene Wenger in a tight spot. The manager’s most influential playmaker had suddenly lost the magic touch, and what happened after brought further distress. Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey both sustained injuries which kept them out for a considerable period of time, dampening Arsenal’s form overall. Ramsey has taken over as one of the most influential players on the team sheet, and has formed a partnership with Wilshere in the midfield.

Mourinho’s spell at the Spanish capital began successfully and was marked by the signing of Ozil from Werder Bremen after the player’s success on the international stage. Madrid won the league with the help of the duo, but both then left the Galacticos for the Premier League.
