‘Modern Day Eboue’ ‘Singlehandedly Raised The Blood Pressure Of Millions’ Fans React To Arsenal Star’s ‘Crazy’ Display Against United

Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares put in an erratic display during the Gunners’ 3-1 win against Manchester United yesterday afternoon.

The Portuguese defender scored the opening goal but also gave away a penalty, with the player also making a number of other mistakes, and supporters on Twitter weren’t sure what to make of the performance:

Tavares may be young but that is no excuse for some of the decisions he makes. Why he decided to raise his arm in the box before the penalty is anyone’s guess, and he could have easily given away another spot-kick with a challenge on Anthony Elanga.

If the 22-year-old can’t improve his consistency, manager Mikel Arteta may have to consider switching Cedric to the left flank. Tavares’s Portuguese teammate wasn’t exactly great against United either but it is another option, with Takehiro Tomiyasu now back to full fitness after a lengthy period out with a calf injury.
