Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez for €35m (£31.4m), according to AS.
The Madrid based publication reports that the Gunners could seal the transfer “early next week” if personal terms can be agreed.
Arsenal are said to have agreed to pay €32m plus €3m in bonuses for Vazquez. Many supporters don’t think that the deal makes a lot of sense:

There’s no doubt that manager Unai Emery is keen to sign a winger this summer, with Wilfried Zaha said to be a priority, but spending such a sizeable portion of the club’s transfer budget on a Vazquez would be a surprise.
Reports surfaced earlier this week about the Gunners’ interest in the Real star but the 27-year-old’s performances were not exactly top drawer last season.
Vazquez did make 47 appearances in all competitions for Real, but scored just five goals and made only four assists.
