Mkhitaryan Backing Arsenal Teammate To Become One Of The Best In The World

Arsenal attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is backing teammate Matteo Guendouzi to become one of the best players in the world.

The Frenchman only arrived from Ligue Two side Lorient in July but has already established himself in the first team at the Gunners.

Mkhitaryan believes there is more to come from Guendouzi and he says he is pushing the midfielder in training to reach his full potential:

“‘He is 19 years old, he has to be focused on football! At 18, 19 years old he’s come here and is playing for Arsenal from Ligue 2 from Lorient. It isn’t everyone who can have this chance.”

“I think he has big talent. We are telling him every day that he has to work very hard, he has to have his feet on the earth because he’s still 19 and has to work hard, hard, hard and he can become one of the best in the world.”

The 19-year-old’s ability and composure on the ball was there for all to see during the defeat against Manchester City on Sunday.

Although many of his teammates failed to perform, Guendouzi was one of Arsenal’s standout players despite his young age.

Since arriving in the summer, the teenager has gone on to make 31 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners.

Guendouzi was signed for just £7m and from what we have seen of the France Under 21 international this season, it could prove to be a massive bargain for the club.
