Miyaichi’s Tough Journey

Miyaichi’s Tough Journey

Ryo Miyaichi has yet to find his place in Premier League football. The 20 year old Japanese international has finally returned from a year-long injury span that has kept him from evolving at the same pace as Wilshere or Ramsey.

The Japanese youngster who feels best playing as a left-wing has recently helped the U21 Gunners win against Wolves. He was used in front of goal rather than on the left side but managed a goal and an assist.

Miyaichi also helped the team by showing great instincts and excellent on pitch awareness. He assisted on Lipman’s goal in the 68th minute and finished the game on the field which is a big accomplishment considering is long absence due to some ankle injuries.

Because of his great form, the Japanese international has had a lot of chances to prove himself to Wenger. He even started against WBA in a game the Gunners managed to win on penalties. He also started in the game against Fenerbahce which means Arsenal’s boss sees him as a potential candidate for a starting left-winger position.

Hopefully the 20 year old attacking midfielder will manage to stay away from injuries. His previous experiences were not that pleasant. After leaving on loan for Wigan, he suffered both knee and ankle problems that side-lined him for the entire season.

Even with loads of talent and determination, Miyaichi still as a long way to go. His recovery went well but he still lacks that thrust that could help him beat some of his possible adversaries. He is a bit slow even if he fits the profile of a fast wing-forward similar to Walcott.

According to the Daily Mail, Miyaichi managed a great performance against Wolves but has also shown the fact that he has some difficulties that come as a result of the ankle injury. He might need some time to recover mentally because physically he should be fit considering he is only 20 and he can easily recover from more complicated injuries. The Japanese international will probably get some time on the pitch with the big team as Arsenal are preparing for a busy couple of weeks.
