Michael Owen Predicts The Scoreline As Arsenal Face Tottenham

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is expecting the North London derby to end in a stalemate when Arsenal face rivals Tottenham at the Emirates.

Although he believes the Gunners will have the lion’s share of possession tomorrow, Owen thinks Spurs’s threat on the counter-attack could lead to a draw:

“I’d expect Arsenal to have most of the territory here with Spurs hoping to catch the Gunners on the counter. To a certain extent, I think that could work. However, I was very impressed with Arsenal’s win in the Europa League midweek, and with both playing so well, I could see them cancelling each other out.”

Owen has gone with a 1-1 scoreline, which is not an unfair prediction, considering both teams are in good form heading into this encounter.

It will be a very competitive affair with Arsenal likely to have most of the ball but manager Jose Mourinho is an expert when playing on the back foot and he has some major attacking weapons in Harry Kane, Gareth Bale and Son Heung-Min.

Combined with the mistakes that the Gunners have been making at the back recently, it’s unlikely that Mikel Arteta’s side will keep a clean sheet but, as Owen mentions, their form suggests they will make a game of it tomorrow evening.
