Michael Owen Predicts The Result As Arsenal Take On Chelsea In The FA Cup Final

Former England international Michael Owen is backing Chelsea to win a tight game when they face Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

The BT pundit thinks the Blues have the stronger squad out of the two teams and he believes Mikel Arteta’s side will be edged out of the contest this weekend:

“I believe Chelsea have the better squad and with the Premier League table and recent history both favouring Chelsea as well, I am going for a 2-1 win to the Blues which will hand Frank Lampard his first piece of silverware as a manager.”

It’s a difficult one to predict. Both teams have been inconsistent this season. Arsenal more so, considering where they finished in the table.

However, the Gunners have shown very recently, with their wins against Liverpool and Manchester City, that they can thrive on a big occasion.

Arteta will be confident that the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette can exploit Chelsea’s vulnerable backline, and I think it is fair to say neither side will be keeping a clean sheet at Wembley.

With the two league fixtures being tightly contested as well, this game could well go to extra time on the day.
