Michael Owen Predicts The Outcome Of Arsenal’s Game Against Newcastle

Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to come out on top when the Gunners face Newcastle at the Emirates tomorrow afternoon.

The TV pundit says that although results haven’t gone Mikel Arteta’s way so far, he has seen enough in their performances to suggest that they are progressing under the Spaniard:

“Arsenal are unbeaten in seven games in 2020 and, while I acknowledge they have drawn too many of those matches (W3 D4), they have improved under Mikel Arteta in recent weeks. I think they will keep the points when Newcastle visit the Emirates on Sunday.”

A victory for Arsenal won’t move them up in the league table as they are four points off Wolves in ninth, but it would take them within seven points of the top four ahead of Chelsea’s game against Manchester United on Monday night.

However, the prospect of getting closer to a Champions League spot will probably not be in the forefront of Arteta’s mind when his side line up against the Magpies.

With just one win from six league games in charge so far, the Gunners boss will be looking to just clinch the three points, as he looks to build for the long term.
