Michael Owen Makes His Prediction As Arsenal Face Burnley

Former England striker Michael Owen is expecting Arsenal to edge a nervy encounter when they take on Burnley at the Emirates this evening.

The Gunners are struggling in the league at the moment but their opponents are also not having the best of campaigns, and Owen believes the home side will just do enough to get the three points tonight:

“Arsenal have been disappointing this season, so far. Mikael Arteta has his work cut out; however, he’ll see this as the ideal opportunity to get back on track. I go through a lot of stats in this line of work, and unfortunately for Burnley, they come last in most of them. I expect the Gunners to get back on track here, albeit by a slender margin.”

Really, these are the sort of matches that Arsenal need to be winning at a canter if they are to push on and move up into the top half of the table, but the lack of goals means this could be a tricky game to negotiate.

Despite only winning once this campaign, Sean Dyche’s side do tend to keep things tight at the back, with the exception of the recent 5-0 away defeat to Manchester City. The Gunners, in contrast, have only found the back of the net twice in their last seven league matches.
