Mesut Ozil could stay at Arsenal if this demand is met

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is supposedly considering staying at the club, if he is allowed to take Jack Wilshere’s No.10 shirt.

The German has been linked with a move away from the Emirates for some time now, with his contract at the club set to expire come the end of the season.

A host of clubs including Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Juventus have been tipped to sign the international, with foreign clubs eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the star in January.

However, Arsenal have become increasingly confident of getting Ozil to put pen to paper to a new deal, with the latest rumour being that he wants to wear the No.10 shirt if he is to commit his future.

Ozil has recently acquired Germany’s No.10 shirt after Lukas Podolski’s retirement, and his brand is based around the ’10’ shirt. There are even reports that he was disappointed not to be given the number when Wilshere was sent on loan last season to Bournemouth.

It is no secret that Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing Ozil to Manchester United, and a potential deal breaker could be that he will be offered the No.10 shirt come the end of the season, with the current holder Zlatan Ibrahimovic surely expected move on from the club by then.
