TV pundit Paul Merson is predicting an Arsenal win when Unai Emery’s side come up against Watford at the Emirates tomorrow.
The Hornets have been in very good form, with their only loss so far this season coming against Manchester United. However, Merson thinks the Gunners will have too much for them:
“Watford will be disappointed after the Carabao Cup exit to Tottenham, but they’ve done well so far this season. But Arsenal are rolling and I can only see them getting a win here.”
Emery named a much-changed team for the victory against Brentford midweek in the Carabao Cup and Danny Welbeck did his claims for a starting spot no harm at all with his brace against the Bees.
Still, it is expected that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will once again be partnered up with Alexandre Lacazette, with both players having hit their stride in recent games.
Petr Cech is also likely to return in goal after £22.5m signing Bernd Leno was given his second outing versus Brentford. The likes of Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin are also expected to be reinstated.
It will be interesting, though, to see what reaction Aaron Ramsey gets from the home crowd after reports surfaced that contract talks with the club have broken down. The Welshman could be sold in January with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
