Martinez Sends Stay Plea To Bayern

Arsenal target Javi Martinez has suggested he will be happy to stay at the Allianz Arena with Bayern Munich, but did not seem confident about the same being Pep Guardiola’s views, according to talkSPORT.

The Barclays Premier League campaign and the FA Cup may be over, but another part of the job has only begun for Arsene Wenger. Wenger will be busy drawing up targets for his chairman to chase. One position which will surely be part of the recruitment plans is the defensive midfield position which has been an area of concern for Wenger since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona. Mikel Arteta has been serving the position this season, but Wenger needs to cover the position sooner rather than later to avoid another season which starts brightly but ends in the squad not being able to maintain their level of performances, as was the case this time around.

Martinez is rumoured to be unsettled since the arrival of Guardiola at the club, and cannot command a consistent role in the starting eleven ever since. Big European clubs have been monitoring the situation, but Martinez has suggested he is ready to stay at the club unless requested otherwise.
