BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson is expecting Arsenal to come out on top when the Gunners take on Fulham at the Emirates this afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s side are coming into the match off the back of two confidence-boosting wins versus Sheffield United and Slavia Prague, and Lawrenson sees them carrying that momentum into their game against the Cottagers:

“Arsenal are a very difficult side to predict, but they put in a real shift against Sheffield United and, if they all work like that again, they will win this one too.”

Lawrenson has gone with a 2-0 win for the home side, which is a fair prediction considering the form of the two teams. Since their sensational away win against Liverpool in early March, Fulham have lost four games in a row versus Manchester City, Leeds, Aston Villa and Wolves.

The Cottagers’ away form has actually been better than their performances at Craven Cottage this season. The London club have only lost five of their 15 matches on the road, but they have also won just three.

This game will likely be a tight contest in the first half, but if the Gunners do get the opener, Fulham’s resistance may crumble.
