Mandzukic Move Out Of Question

According to Metro, reports emerging from Germany have suggested Bayern Munich are aware of the threat to Mario Mandzukic’s first team place with Robert Lewandowski’s pending summer arrival, but have dismissed speculation about a move.

Arsenal are in desperate need of firepower in the attacking third, and lack a quick, tall and hard working center forward in their side. That role is currently played by Olivier Giroud, but the Frenchman’s work rate may not be that of a world class striker. Also, with Giroud the only recognised striker, Arsene Wenger would love the presence of another striker who can compliment the former Montpellier attacker. Yaya Sanogo has featured a few times for the club, but has not looked exceptional against Premier League opposition, which is a sign of worry for the Arsenal supporters.

Mandzukic’s career flourished at Dinamo Zagreb, where he made 81 appearances, scoring 42 goals in the process. The impressive goals tally earned him a move to German giants Wolfsburg, where the striker spent two seasons, scoring 20 goals. However, the 27-year old’s best spell so far has been the current run at Bayern. The Croatian has appeared 52 times for the German champions, and has scored 32 goals to contribute to the club’s record breaking season under Pep Guardiola.
