Arsenal will be hoping to kickstart their season with a win at Old Trafford on Monday night. The Gunners showed resolve to beat Aston Villa with ten men last time out in the league, but the start of the campaign has been far from perfect.
If anything, things have been worse for Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were awful against West Ham last weekend and they were not much better against Rochdale midweek.
The good news for Arsenal is that their injury list is now far more manageable, with just two players, Alexandre Lacazette (ankle) and Emile Smith Rowe (concussions) unavailable.
In contrast, United’s injury crisis is worsening after Solskjaer confirmed that Paul Pogba is a major doubt with an ankle injury. Marcus Rashford (groin) and Anthony Martial (thigh) are already out of contention along with six other players.
Luke Shaw (hamstring), Diogo Dalot (knock), Eric Bailly (knee), Angel Gomes (knock), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (knee) and Phil Jones are all missing.
At the bookmakers, United are favourites to get the win with Betfred having them at 7/5. A draw is currently 13/5 with Unibet while an Arsenal victory is 41/20 at 888 Sport.
