Manchester United Considering January Swoop For Arsenal Playmaker

Manchester United are monitoring Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil’s situation at the club, according to reports in the UK.

The German’s relationship with new Gunners manager Unai Emery has been called into question already this season and Jose Mourinho is believed to be keen on a January swoop for the 29-year-old if he becomes available.

The United boss knows Ozil well after managing the midfielder at Real Madrid for three years between 2010 and 2013 and is said to be looking to link up with the player once again.

However, it doesn’t seem that the German will be leaving at the moment. He scored in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory against Newcastle on Saturday, and he is still very much part of Emery’s first-team plans.

The Spanish boss does appear, though, to be demanding more end product from the midfielder. After the win against the Magpies at the weekend, he stated that he wanted the player to score more goals.

During his five years at the Emirates, Ozil has scored 38 times in 200 appearances.
